Our Treasure in Jesus

God, we love you! As your Church, help us do what it takes to let the people of Tunisia grasp the Good News that we have every spiritual blessing of Heaven IN Christ! (Ephesians 1:3)

Pray for a Tunisian Believer

S lives in a poor community. As a new Christian, he was trained in how to disciple others. S gathers a large group in a coffee shop, and they read the Bible together. He clearly tells them that there is no salvation apart from Christ. S has many trials in his life. He is poor and can’t find work. He previously worked, but the employer didn’t pay him. Pray that God will give S work and that he will continue to share about Christ’s salvation.

Prayer for Boldness

“and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,” (Romans 1:4-5 ESV).

Holy Spirit, cultivate and grow in the church in Tunisia the gifts of grace and apostleship that through this beautiful, unique expression of your body we might see the obedience of faith for the sake of your great name among all the nations of the earth. (Romans 1:4-5) Mold hearts and minds of obedient faith in your followers in Tunisia that they might teach and disciple their communities into love for Jesus.”

Pray for a Segment of Society

Stay-at-home moms- Rodayna sighed as she hung out the day’s wash, trying to suppress the seemingly relentless waves of depressive thoughts. She smiled to think of their new baby’s giggles. Though the surprise pregnancy put extra stress on her husband’s meager income, the baby was a breath of fresh air in the midst of the adolescent angst their house seemed brimming with these days. Her son was recently caught looking at inappropriate websites, her daughter’s health was failing her out of school, abusive teachers kept their tyrannical classroom rule, marriage was tense, her extended family put constant pressure on her, there was drama with neighbours, and the doctor had recently given Rodayna some hard news about her own health. She wiped away a tear as she hung out another long traditional dress. From the little balcony she could see over to her Christian neighbours’ house, where she and the kids loved to spend time and rest from the never-ending monotony of housework and exhausting relationships. She thought back to when she dreamed of Jesus the Messiah, calming her fears and walking right into their house, telling her, “This is the place.” The place to learn? To be loved? The Christians told her Jesus wanted to give her rest, but being Tunisian was synonymous with being Muslim, and being a Tunisian woman seemed to be synonymous with living in a perpetual state of exhaustion. She loved the words of life she read in the Bible with her neighbour and she longed for rest and freedom, but how could she find it? Pray for stay-at-home mothers who are daily treading water in the stress and onslaught of their often insular lives, that they may find rest and comfort in the Christ whose burden is light.
